Hunter McGuire III, Founder

As co-founder of Prologue, Hunter embraces new technologies and is constantly seeking unique ways to meet his clients’ needs using the most modern methods. His benchmark for success is “practical perfection” — working efficiently to meet the highest standards with minimal waste and maximum value.

With a bachelor’s in mathematics from the University of Virginia and certificate in computer science from Virginia Commonwealth University, Hunter’s professional career spans various roles in the construction industry from entry to owner of a full-service design build firm.

Scott Reed, Founder

As long as there are inefficiencies in the built environment, Scott will be searching for ways to eliminate them. True to co-founder Hunter McGuire’s philosophy of practical perfection, Scott focuses on leveraging new and existing technologies to make client projects easier, successful and more efficient.

Scott holds a bachelor’s in engineering from Mercer University and an MBA from Virginia Commonwealth University, and spent more than 20 years in surveying and engineering roles including vice president of a land development firm.

John Adam Hugo, AIA, ASLA, ASID

A noted designer, Jay provides strategic oversight and management for the company supported by his professional training as an architect, landscape architect, and interior designer. His buildings and landscapes have been featured in regional and national press, and his expertise in program management, development consulting and project advocacy has helped Prologue remain at the forefront of industry innovation.

Jay received a Bachelor of Science in Architecture from the University of Virginia and earned his Master of Architecture from the University of Pennsylvania.
